Jay:
I want to thank you for your MTA presentation earlier today. I am a member of the Canadian Society of Technical Analysts (CSTA) and every Wednesday we have the opportunity to enjoy the MTA presentations. Your presentation was among the best yet!
I do have one question:
Would it be possible to send me the slides?
The MTA indicated that they had a problem providing a link where viewers could download the slides.
Thanks again for an informative presentation. I have bookmarked your website!

Dave,
Thank you for the kind words. For a variety of reasons as a rule I do not distribute copies of slides for presentation that I create. I apologize for the inconvenience. You can however access the recorded seminar at http://jayonthemarkets.com/2013/11/21/finding-exceptional-opportunities-webinar/
Hope that helps,
Take Care, Jay
Hi Jay,
I am on the verge of finishing your book “Seasonal Stock Market Trends”. The data you present in the book is very compelling. As a new investor, I find some of the investment jargon flies over my head. Could you please define the phrases “Long the Dow” and “Short the Dow” and how they are different from “Buy and Hold”. My apologies for the tedious and obvious question, but I cannot find these definition(s) anywhere, even when I Google it…..
Many thanks.

Glenn, “Long the Dow” simply means earning the daily return for the Dow only during whatever specific day/week/month/etc. is being discussed. “Short the Dow” simply means earning the inverse of the daily return for the Dow only during whatever specific day/week/month/etc. is being discussed. “Buy and hold” means earning the daily return for the Dow during ALL trading days. So if on a given day the Dow is up +1% then “Long the Dow” gains +1%, “Short the Dow” loses -1% and “Buy and hold” also gains +1%. Hope that helps, Jay
Hmm is anyone else experiencing problems with the pictures on this blog loading?
I’m trying to find out if its a problem on my
end or if it’s the blog. Any feedback would be greatly
appreciated.
Great article.
